IIAS 2026 Takes Shape in Seoul: Registration Open Until 31 October

Diogo Pereira,

The IIAS 2026 Conference will bring the international public administration community to Seoul, Republic of Korea, from 17 to 20 November. Organised with the Konkuk Institute of Health and Aging Society (KIHAS), and supported by SK hynix and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the conference will explore how cooperation across institutions and sectors can turn economic and social change into public value.

Under the theme “Growth for Society: Collaborative Governance, Social Innovation, and Public Value,” the scientific programme is taking shape around 373 accepted submissions across the main theme and 14 specialised themes. Led by scientific co-chairs Prof. Liza C. Van Jaarsveldt of the University of South Africa and Prof. Dr. Seung-Bum Yang of Konkuk University, the conference will connect research and practice on questions ranging from technological change and demographic shifts to the ways governments, businesses and communities can work together.

The organisers are now developing plenary sessions for each of the four conference days, alongside an excursion planned for 21 November. A selection of conference papers will also be considered for a special issue of the International Review of Administrative Sciences, extending the discussions in Seoul beyond the event itself.

Registration is open until 31 October 2026. Presenters and other participants can register through conference platform (Conftool) and follow conference updates and practical information on the IIAS website. Anyone wishing to inquire about a late submission can contact iias-conference@iias-iisa.org.
